Muni Long confessed that Rihanna's "California King Bed" was written in 10 minutes.

When she was still discovering her sound, the Grammy-winning singer and songwriter wrote songs for artists like Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Cheryl, Fifth Harmony, and even Ariana Grande.

Muni Long Wrote Rihanna' California King Bed'

Credited with her name Priscilla Renea, Muni Long revealed to Complex that she had written Rihanna's "California King Bed" on a whim.

Apparently, the track's title was drawn from what she was busy doing at the time - hunting for furniture!

Long recalled living in Miami and working for Jermaine Jackson on his We the Best Studio. She was given a file, and she proceeded to write it.

"At the time I was planning to move to L.A. I was actually online looking for furniture when Maine comes in the room, and he's like, 'What you got?' I didn't have anything, because I had been messing around, and I looked at my computer," she recalled. " I said 'California King Bed,' and he said, 'OK,' and then he left. So I was like, 'Oh, now I gotta write that.'"

Long even revealed that she wrote the entire song in 10 minutes to "go back to looking" for her furniture as she envisions a life in Los Angeles.

Little did she know that the song would eventually reach No. 37 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and No. 1 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart. The Recording Industry Association of America has since certified it double platinum.

The Independent even noted that the song showcases "Rihanna's best vocal performance" yet.

Unbeknownst to many, the song was supposed to be written for Kelly Clarkson but was given to Rihanna's "Loud."

"I was super excited," she remembered. "She was on tour at the time, but she cut the song, and the rest is history. You wouldn't think that she would do something like that."
