Cardi B has been vocal about taking her time with her highly anticipated sophomore album, but apparently, producing high-quality music is not the only thing that has prolonged the process, as her anxiety and fears also got in the way.

"I just feel like I lost myself like with everything like, you know like a lot of like music commenters and everything and a lot of people just be like, you know, 'She's afraid to drop an album, she's afraid to drop music,'" the "Bodak Yellow" rapper told host Speedy Morman on 360 with Speedy.

She explained how her fears and anxiety of receiving backlash and criticism led her to barely release new music in 2023.

"I was afraid to go live, I was afraid to post a picture, I was afraid to go to the club, and then the next day seeing people, what they going to say about me, and everything. I was afraid to do everything," she continued.

Cardi B 'Afraid of Getting Dragged'

The "Bongos" hitmaker also revealed that she had to fight her urge to speak up about politics and other topics she is interested in because she was tired of "getting dragged every single f**king day."

However, she also acknowledged that her absence and silence have affected her fans and those wishing for her success.

"I want to apologize to my fans. To my fans, to myself, and to the people that love me for losing myself... Just losing myself and not being myself because of negative things that put me in a wall," Cardi B told her fans recently on Instagram Live.

"I want to apologize if you ever felt that like, I wasn't giving my all because of things. I'm just a f**king human b***h, I'm trying to do this s**t. You know what I'm saying? I'm trying."
