In the aftermath of Britney Spears's release from her conservatorship, a Hollywood psychiatrist is suggesting that someone immediately places her under a new one.

Dr. Charles Sophy recently appeared on TMZ Live, expressing concerns about the 42-year-old singer's well-being, citing reports that she is facing significant challenges and financial peril.

Britney Spears' Crisis

Upon learning about the news regarding Spears, Sophy expressed his belief that she should consider returning to a conservatorship following her brief hiatus from Instagram, which lasted only a day. From his perspective, this decision seems necessary for her well-being.

The expert explained, "No, it doesn't surprise me at all because the conservatorship was there for a reason, and even though, like you said, it might not have been with the right person, the actual process needs to be in place."

"When you have a mental illness of this degree, you need that kind of structure, supervision, and most importantly, to take your medication," he added.

The conservatorship came into effect following Spears' challenge to hand over custody of her children to ex-Kevin Federline in 2008, leading to her admission to the psychiatric unit at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and subsequent placement on a 5150 psychiatric hold.

During her tenure under the conservatorship, she remained dedicated to her craft, producing albums despite facing challenges. In 2019, she found herself back in a psychiatric facility, seeking relief from the strain caused by her father Jamie's serious health scare.

Psychiatrist Sounds Alarm

It was also reported that Spears had been neglecting her medication. The mind expert now believes that the current issue with Spears may be due to her non-compliance with her prescribed medications.

Sophy told the outlet, Well, because of the erratic behavior, the manic-y spending of money, recklessness, destroying people around her, no one can feel safe around her, no one can control her, she's out of control, on many levels."

In the most recent update released by TMZ yesterday, it was reported that the "Baby One More Time" singer is facing risks both in terms of her mental well-being and financial stability.

Allegations suggest she is lacking proper oversight and is experiencing drastic mood fluctuations.

According to sources who spoke to the outlet, Spears has been splurging over $1 million on her frequent extravagant getaways to French Polynesia, leading to concerns that she is nearing financial depletion.

When asked how she could be treated now, the psychiatrist explained, "Well, these kinds of situations run into a wall, eventually."

"Either she'll hurt herself, she might hurt someone else, or she could be 5150'd because she's not able to take care of herself."

"Any of those situations will push her to a place where then medication can be given to her against her will."

Harvey Levin from TMZ expressed his doubt about the possibility of a judge imposing another conservatorship on Spears due to the strong public opposition that arose.

But Sophy explained, "At the end of the day, hopefully a judge would make the decision in the best interest of that patient, and if that's what she requires, even for a temporary amount of time, that's what she would require."

His immediate action plan involves medication in response to how he would assist Spears if he were in charge.

Sophy's approach prioritizes administering the necessary treatment, even if it means resorting to injections should she refuse to take it orally.

This perspective underscores the urgent need for medical intervention to address Spears' current state of distress.
