Beyoncé might be busy with her current era of music after releasing Cowboy Carter. But it doesn't mean she doesn't have other projects on the horizon. She's set to star again as the voice of Nala in the upcoming Lion King prequel, Mufasa: The Lion King.

Aside from the singer, her eldest daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, is also expected to be one of the voice actors heard in the new movie.

According to Consequence, the animated film will feature Donald Glover as Simba, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, Billy Eichner as Timon, John Kani as Rafiki, and many more.

Most of them were in the first movie and will reprise their roles in the new one.

What to Expect From 'Mufasa'

The plot synopsis reads, "Mufasa: The Lion King enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara (Blue Ivy), daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick."

Fans should expect the storytelling in the upcoming film to be in flashbacks as Mufasa will be introduced as an orphaned cub until he meets Taka.

Beyoncé Updates

Produced by CNN FlashDocs, the documentary, which also starred Lil Nas X, is now available for streaming on Max.

This came after her new album Cowboy Carter, focused on the country music genre. It features 27 songs paying tribute to the Black roots of country music. She also collaborated with Black country musicians like Tanner Adell, Reyna Roberts, Brittney Spencer, and many more.
