Hilary Duff and Mathew Koma publicly celebrated the arrival of their newest child, Townes Meadow Bair, on Tuesday.

Duff took to Instagram to share a sweet series of photos showing off her littlest little one, she was born on May 3. The first photo shows a freshly born Townes cradled to her mother's chest; the second features Duff kissing her new baby's forehead. A third photo is a solo shot of the newborn, showing her being held delicately.

Duff included a wholesome photo of her and Koma sharing a kiss as she holds their baby, wrapped in a towel. The last picture in the slide is of Koma, sporting glasses and holding little Townes.

Duff captioned the collection with a heartwarming, motherly caption, writing "Townes Meadow Bair , now we know why she made us wait so long..." She included a teddy bear emoji next to the child's name.

"She was perfecting those Cheeks!" joked Duff. She continued with her endearing message to her child.

"I Have been dreaming of holding you in my arms for months and the past 5 days of getting to know you, stare at you and smell you has been pure moments of magic. We all love you like you've been here all along beauty. 5/3/24," she wrote.

She attached a tag to an account for Little Plum Photo, which specializes in newborn and family photography.

Duff also tagged an account called Birthing Rhythm, which is a birthing and mom-support group who "attend home births and offer individualized midwifery care."

In her photos, the singer can be seen giving birth in a large tub, rather than a hospital bed. Duff also gave birth to daughters Banks and Mae, both of whom she shares with Koma, at home.

"They don't let you have water in the hospital, or food or snacks and you're about to work the hardest you've ever worked to push a baby out," said Duff of hospital births in 2022. She also appreciated that her children were born with their siblings present.

Duff's son, Luca, whom she shares with ex-husband, Mike Comrie, was in attendance for the birth of his sister, Mae. Duff recalled that Luca sang happy birthday to the newborn.

"It's kind of the most hippie dippy thing about me, to have my kids around while I'm birthing. At first I thought it was really weird, but it was beautiful to bring another member in with everyone around," Duff said on the Kelly Clarkson Show.

She explained that having her son attend her daughter's birth was also important as she is "really big on being open and honest with him about how strong women are and what childbirth looks like." Duff finds it important to have these open and honest conversations about women and menstrual health with Luca as a way to prepare him "for all the women that are going to be in his life."
