Reba McEntire will not only star in a new NBC sitcom but also sing its theme song.

NBC officially picked up a series order to launch the new sitcom, Happy's Place

NBC has given the green light for the new sitcom, ordering a series to launch. McEntire will not only headline the show but also assume an executive producer role, joining forces with Julie Abbott, Kevin Abbott, Mindy Schultheis, and Michael Hanel.

Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, will produce the sitcom.

In her new interview with People, the 69-year-old "Whoever's in New England" singer confirmed she will be performing the series' theme song.

"We've started working on it, and we'll have it soon finished," said McEntire. "If they say it's a go, I'll finish it up and have it ready for when we go to series."

Singing theme songs is now McEntire's forte.

McEntire previously performed Reba's theme song, "I'm a Survivor," which the songstress and Jennifer Hudson covered on the latter's show on May 2.

"I think the reason why so many people can connect with the song 'I'm a Survivor' is because it's relatable. I know you find the same thing in the songs you sing," McEntire said. "If people can relate to it, they can connect to it. And I'm a survivor - I mean, a woman who is working hard doing two jobs and raising kids."

Regarding her reunion with Reba costar Melissa Peterman, McEntire revealed she had so much fun already. The pair also worked on other projects like Working Class, Baby Daddy, The Hammer and Young Sheldon.

"Rex Linn, my boyfriend, is also part of the show. We've got a great ensemble with the same producers, showrunner and writers as we had with the Reba show, and it's a great script," she told People, adding, "My [character Bobbie's] dad was Happy, that was his name, and we owned a tavern called Happy's Place."

According to a press release shared by NBC, Happy's Place is about McEntire's character, Bobbie, who "inherits her father's restaurant and is less than thrilled to discover that she has a new business partner in the half-sister she never knew she had."

The other cast members include Tokala Black Elk, Belissa Escobedo and Pablo Castelblanco.
