It's been more than a year since Costa Titch's fans were shocked and devastated after he collapsed and died at a music festival in South Africa. More recently, the cause of his death has finally been revealed, and it's related to his health.

A statement was released on the rapper's official Instagram account, which stated that after his team and family collaborated with pathologists, the post-mortem examination revealed that a significant strain was found on his heart that he didn't know about.

It was mixed with stress and fatigue that eventually led to an irregular heartbeat, which triggered the seizure that caused his death.

"Costa Titch's influence transcended boundaries, inspiring countless souls throughout his journey, leaving an indelible mark on the world of music. In this time of mourning, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to his devoted fans for their unwavering love and support. Let us continue to honor his legacy together," the statement continues.

According to People Magazine, the musician, who was only 28 years old, collapsed during his performance at the Ultra Music Festival in Johannesburg, South Africa, in March 2023. Although he was able to get back up after his first fall, he collapsed for a second time and died.

At the time, his family issued an official statement confirming the tragic news as they wrote: "It is with deep pain that we find ourselves having to acknowledge his passing at this time. We are thankful for the emergency responders and all those present in his last hours on this earth."

Later on, organizers of the event also shared a statement, saying they were devastated by his death as he was a "galvanizing voice" among the ampiano scene in the country.

Costa Titch, whose real name is Constantinos Tsobanoglou, was born to a Greek father and a South African mother.

He started as a backup dancer before he became a musician. He rose to fame after signing under Akon's Konvict Kulture label, and they eventually collaborated on a single.

He released his debut album, "Made In Africa," in 2020, which featured collaborative tracks with artists like Boity, AKA, and Ricky Rick.

The late musician was successful in his career as he bagged several awards, including Best Collaboration and Best Remix at the South African Hip Hop Awards.
