Heads up, metal and videogame fans! Metallica is heading over to Fortnite in a few days to perform at a virtual concert that you won't want to miss; check out the details below including the official schedule of their performance.

After recent virtual gigs by Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish, Metallica has been named as the next musical act to perform at Fortnite Festival.

Billed as Metallica: Fuel. Fire. Fury., fans will get a chance to witness members James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Lars Ulrich, and Robert Trujilio, perform as virtual versions of themselves. The event will only take place on Fortnite this June 22 and 23.

There will be six schedules for the concerts: 2 p.m., 5 p.m., and 11 p.m. on the first day, and 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 5 p.m. on the final day. Each show will be 30 minutes each and even fans enter the event late, they can still enjoy the full show.

Fans should expect high-quality graphics as the virtual concert was customized and built from scratch using the Unreal Editor 3D computer graphic game engine. It will be held in a virtual stage called Metallica Loot Island which was inspired by their M72 World Tour set up.

Epic Games described the upcoming show as "a brand-new playable concert that will journey through six of Metallica's fan-favorite songs with themed gameplay that complements the intensity of a Metallica live show."

Fans who will obtain the Festival Pass has a free reward track and Premium Reward Track upgrade to unlock Hetfield, Hammett, and Trujillo's outfits. Ulrich's outfit will only be unlocked once the Premium Reward Track gets purchased. In addition, their outfits will be available in Lego forms.

All outfits will be available until August 16, 2024.

Other games inspired by Metallica will also be available like the Metallica Cup and Rocket Racing featuring Thrash Mountain track.

In other updates about Metallica, the band is still in the middle of touring for their M72 World Tour. Their next show will be at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, DK, on June 14 and 16. Their last set of shows will be at Foro Sol in Mexico City on September 20, 22, 27, and 29.
