Last month, Mark Chesnutt was forced to cancel his upcoming shows as he underwent an emergency surgery. More recently, he gave an update regarding his health condition and teased his return on the big stage.

Taking to his official Instagram account, the singer shared a video of his performance from one of his previous concerts and expressed his excitement about getting back on stage.

"There's nothin like the crowd gettin excited two notes into a song of mine!" he wrote in the caption, adding that he's currently recovering from his surgery.

"I'm healing at home comfortably. But I can't wait to get out singin with the band and the fans!" he added.

As of this writing, Mark Chesnutt has yet to announce his next tour or performances as he recovers after his surgery.

The recent update comes after the singer revealed that he had to cancel all of his upcoming shows after going through an emergency quadruple bypass surgery.

"I send my love and gratitude to my family and friends, the band and fans for your understanding, prayers and support, and look forward to seeing you all again soon at a honky tonk near you," he wrote at the time.

This wasn't the first time Chesnutt had a health scare, as he was also hospitalized and placed in critical care last November. At the time, his team described it as tests and treatment. Two weeks later, he took to social media again to share that "the fight is over."

He also addressed that he has been struggling with "a battle" that he had been fighting over the past years, and after suffering from "extreme health issues," he wanted to take time off to get healthy.

"I'll be coming off the road for the next couple of months to concentrate on getting well.....to take care of me, my family and so that I can get back out on the road, to give back to ALL of you who have shown me unconditional support, care and love throughout my entire career," he wrote in November.

Mark Chesnutt, who has been labeled as a Honky Tonk Legend, amassed massive success in the 90s. He released 20 top-10 hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts throughout his career.

Some of the tracks his fans loved over the years were "Gonna Get a Life," "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing," "I Just Wanted You to Know," and many more.
