A singer-songwriter stirred mixed reactions with her performance of the National Anthem during the recent Home Run Derby in Arlington, Texas.

Ingrid Andress, a 32-year-old country music singer, showcased her "unique" rendition at the event.

She took center stage amid a sea of baseball fans on July 15 and delivered her rendition of The Star Spangled Banner, captivating -- in a negative way -- tens of thousands with her performance.

However, as the song progressed, Andress' voice faltered, struggling to hit the high notes and maintain pitch.

In fact, a grin spread across the face of Phillies' player Alec Bohm, prompting others at Globe Life Field to chime in with their own voices as they tried to match the sharp, resonant tones of Andress, who is a four-time Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter.

Unfortunately, the singer's performance was met with mixed reactions.

@venicequeenking said, "Horrible. And why the f--k do we need an anthem before a home run derby? Just a super weird spectacle."

@VWPeteW firmly stated, "She was terrible. Also, why can't people just sing the song as it was written instead of trying do their own version and making it about themselves when the whole idea is for it to be about the country. #justsingthesong"

@ToddKrieger1 also commented, saying, "This is what a Grammy nominee made by Auto-Tune sounds like without Auto-Tune or musical accompaniment (a cappella) .... I didn't know who Ingrid Andres was, prior to the Anthem clip.... So I checked out her music, and yes, it was all Auto-Tuned. Her career could be wrecked...."

"Is she a yodeler?" asked @timmyc1979, while @Truthfoolgal asked, confused, "Did she do it intentionally to be disrespectful?"

Meanwhile, @Soonerhoot44 declared, "That proves it takes zero talent to get a Grammy nomination."

Surprisingly, the crowd at the championship event graciously applauded Andress, with a smattering of boos heard during the live ESPN broadcast.

The audience then eagerly witnessed Teoscar Hernandez of the Dodgers claim his first Home Run Derby championship title.

Andress' musical journey included releasing albums, with her latest offering being Good Person in 2022.

She has also garnered recognition with four Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist and Best Country Song in 2021. She has graced the stage on solo tours and shared performances with Stevie Nicks, Keith Urban, Dan + Shay, and Tim McGraw.

Her father, Brad Andress, dedicated almost twenty years to being a strength and conditioning coach in professional baseball, working with teams such as the Detroit Tigers and Colorado Rockies.
