Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are in the process of finalizing their divorce following a two-year marriage, a sensational new report has claimed.
Anonymous sources claimed to the Daily Mail that the couple's divorce papers have been completed but not yet submitted. Music Times could not independently verify this information, and neither Affleck nor Lopez have publicly addressed the rumors surrounding their marriage.
"They finalized the divorce papers with her a month ago, but are waiting for the right time to drop them. At that time, they will release a joint statement that will say how they have much love for each other and how they fought to make it work, but couldn't," one insider claimed.
"Honestly, in the end they could not come to a compromise. What they had before is gone and they have both accepted it," a second source added.
However, an unnamed "friend" of Lopez's in Los Angeles shared with the outlet that the singer still wanted to try to save their marriage.
"If it is only a question of putting the work in then you had better believe that [Jen] will turn it around," the insider claimed.
Emphasizing the dedication put into her relationship with Affleck, the source mentioned how the "Get Right" hitmaker "has thrown her heart and soul into her love story with Ben and will not give it up without a fight. From what I hear there is still a lot of love there, so there must be hope."
Recently, there has been a lack of sightings of the couple together, with persistent split speculations surrounding them.
An unidentified insider revealed to Page Six in May that the "Gone Girl" actor has "come to his senses" and now has a clearer vision of what the future looks like for them.
"He feels like the last two years was just a fever dream, and he's come to his senses now and understands there is just no way this is going to work," they said at the time.
The divorce rumors intensified after Affleck seemingly purchased a lavish gift for himself but not for his wife on her 55th birthday, which she marked last week without his presence.
The 51-year-old actor acquired a luxurious $20.5 million residence in L.A.'s Pacific Palisades without Lopez, sparking talks of it being a "bachelor pad," according to TMZ.
At the same time, reports confirmed that Lopez successfully closed a deal on her four-bedroom penthouse in New York City, selling it for an impressive $23 million.
Lopez allegedly felt a "stab in the heart" over her husband's decision to buy a bachelor pad, Radar Online reported, citing an anonymous insider.
But the Daily Mail's report suggested that despite their efforts to reconcile, Lopez and Affleck are moving forward with their divorce proceedings after weeks of attempting to mend their marriage. It's still best to take the report with a grain of salt.
