Carrie Underwood has shared what kind of judge she's going to be in her upcoming role in the next season of "American Idol."

The 2005 "American Idol" winner, who is a mother of two, is returning to her origins by joining the ABC show.

Ahead of her debut as an "American Idol" judge, Underwood was asked about her approach to mentoring aspiring artists during her appearance on "Good Morning America" Friday.

The 41-year-old singer shared that she is committed to being honest and emphasized the importance of providing constructive and supportive feedback to contestants.

"I have a problem. I can't lie," Underwood said. "I feel like I'll be very honest, but hopefully, I'll also be very constructive and encouraging."

While discussing Underwood's potential approach to judging contestants, "GMA's" Sam Champion hinted that she would be lenient, prompting the country music star to laugh and respond, "Oh gosh no. Just ask my kids."

Meanwhile, when "Idol" showrunner and executive producer Megan Wolflick was asked by Entertainment Tonight why Underwood was selected to replace Katy Perry, she answered, "She is our queen."

"Well, it is 20 years since she auditioned in St. Louis for 'American Idol,' and to have the first ever 'Idol' alum on the panel has always been something that's been interesting to me," Wolflick said.

The "American Idol" team has been actively seeking a replacement for Perry since she left in February.

"We have been searching, you know, and obviously talking to Carrie for a little bit here. It has been a little over two months since the [Season 22] finale, but these talks have been going on for a while and we've been really excited to make it all happen," the showrunner explained.

Underwood is set to join Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie on the judging panel for Season 23 of "American Idol."

It's currently unknown how much Underwood will receive as salary from "American Idol," but it's worth noting that she already has a net worth of $140 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
