It seems like every Sunday night there is another awards show in music, film or gaming. This Sunday is the Billboard Music Awards, which will honor the artists who did the best in the Billboard charts. Now Live Nation is looking to congratulate itself and those who partake in its empire with an award show of its own, aptly titled the Live Nation Music Awards. Since Live Nation is focused on concerts, the award show will honor the best live music performances. It will air on both TNT and TBS on Oct. 1.

Live Nation Entertainment will produce the show in collaboration with IMG and Dick Clark Productions. Michael Rapino, CEO of Live Nation and Mark Shapiro, IMG's Chief Content Officer, will co-executive produce the event with Dick Clark Productions' CEO Allen Shapiro and president Michael Mahan.

"Live Nation is dedicated to bringing artists and fans together for life-long memories and we are honored to take part in recognizing the talent who bring those experiences to life," said Rapino in a statement.

Award categories include "Best On-Stage Collaboration," "Road Warrior of the Year," "Live Performance of the Year" and "Best Special Effects in a Festival." The event, according to Billboard, will take a page out of the Grammys playbook and promises to have live performances that focused on "first of their kind collaborations and appearances."

"With all the honors given to recorded music, it's great to finally see awards created for live performances," David Eilenberg, TBS and TNT's senior VP of unscripted series, specials and late night, said in a statement.

Since this is a Live Nation-produced event, will they only honor Live Nation artists and numbers like revenue and tour dates accrued at Live Nation venues?

The Live Nation Award Show will join Billboard in celebrating concert tour. Billboard recently celebrated its 11th Tour Awards, though they are not televised.
