Wiz Khalifa Confirms 'Rolling Papers 2' Album Will Be Released in 2016

After announcing the release of his Cabin Fever 3 mixtape, Wiz Khalifa recently confirmed that his forthcoming album Rolling Papers 2 will drop in 2016.

During an interview with Justin Credible and DJ Sourmilk on L.A.’s Power 106, Wiz revealed that, despite word on the Web, his new album will not come out this year.

“It's coming out next year, not this year,” he said. “A lot of people think I'm gonna drop it this year but I'm not, I'm gonna drop it next year.”

Although the album won't be dropping in 2015, Wiz made it known that he has a few surprises up his sleeve.

“There will be surprises [laughs], you know how I work,” the "See You Again" rapper said. “I always put music out and I ain’t drop an album this year so I gotta put something out.”

Just last week, Wiz shared a new edition of his DayToday vlog and announced that he will be releasing a Cabin Fever 3 mixtape. He released the first Cabin Fever back in 2011 and followed with the second installment in 2012. Both tapes have more than one million downloads on Datpiff.

In October, Wiz rapper dropped two new songs ("Just Because" produced by Harry Fraud and "Outsiders," which features production by Big Jerm & Christo) via SoundCloud. More recently, Wiz shared a sexual cut titled "Fucc Day."

Earlier this year, Wiz hinted at the release of a new album, a sequel to 2011's Rolling Papers, which spawned the chart-topping hit, “Black and Yellow.” He first announced Rolling Papers 2: The Weed Album back in May via Twitter. His most recent album, Blacc Hollywood, was released in 2014 and spawned fan favorites including “We Dem Boyz,” “You and Your Friends,” “Promises,” “So High” and “Staying Out All Night.”

No word on exactly when to expect either of Wiz Khalifa's new projects. Check back with us for more updates.
