Happy Friday all. Before you head off to your debaucherous activitie for the weekend, sit down and watch this ridiculous video of Sesame Street rapping the words to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony "Tha Crossroads."
The video is about as great as it sounds. It stars Grover as Bizzy Bone, Elmo as Layzie Bone, Telly as Wish Bone and Cookie Monster as Krayzie Bone.
The mouths moving are synced up with the rhythm of the rappers spitting bars. The scenes will provide an element of nostalgia to match this classic from the Cleveland rap group.
Each of the characters works because Layzie raps fast and Elmo is a fast talker, while Krayzie has a deep voice, much like the infamous growls of Cookie Monster.
The video comes from the same people who have been mashing up some of the best children's cartoons with classic 1990's hip-hop songs with great success. Some of the past videos have included The Muppets singing Biz Markie's "Just A Friend" and Barney rapping Notorious B.I.G's classic "Get Money."
Though they are being immortalized in this viral video with the help of Sesame Street, not all is well for Krayzie Bone. He told TMZ that he cut his Canadian tour short because of sarcoidosis, an autoimmune disease that attacks the lungs and lymph nodes in the chest. He believes he suffered an "intense case of pneumonia" during the tour as a result of his medication for the disease.
He canceled the remainder of his tour dates at the time and has more coming up in April. No word on whether or not they remain on the docket or will be shelved.
