‘DuckTales’ Reboot Brings Two Disney Classics To The New Generation

Another 90's classic made its way to the digital age. This time, Scrooge McDuck and his grandnephews take center stage as the 30-year old series "DuckTales" gets a reboot series in 2017.

Produced by Disney Animation Studios, the 2017 "DuckTales" series will feature the wealthy Scrooge alongside the familiar cast of ducks, including pilot Launchpad McDuck and Webby Wonderquack, as they take on new adventures and face amazing feats. The new "DuckTales" will feature a new set of voice actors, with David Tennant of "Doctor Who" taking the mantle of Scrooge, who was previously voiced by the late Alan Young. Only Tony Anselmo, who voiced Donald Duck, is reprising his role for the reboot, BGR reports.

Both the animation and music for the "DuckTales" reboot has been updated for the new audience while keeping the classic bits from the original television series. From the memorable one-liners like Launchpad's "I'm a pilot" to the timeless depiction of Scrooge, it pays its respects to the much-loved series.

Interestingly, Scrooge and the gang are not the only ones returning on the reboot. According to SlashFilm, Darkwing Duck, the lead character of another 90's television series of the same name, will also make an appearance on the "DuckTales" reboot.

The "DuckTales" reboot is based on the comic book series created by Carl Banks that started its serialization on 1952. The comic series followed Scrooge McDuck, known as the richest duck in the world, and his nephew Donald and grandnephews as they go on crazy adventures from the city of Duckberg to the ends of the world. The comic books also served as the inspiration for the original "DuckTales" television show.

Currently, only one episode has been aired for the "DuckTales" reboot. The rest of the episodes for the show's first season are scheduled to air on Disney XD starting September 23.
