John Legend surprises his fans with a disco-infused music video for his newest track "A Good Night." The song features BloodPop and was released on Friday, April 6.

The over three-minute clip opens with a woman walking into a bar seemingly looking for the guy she can hang out with. After checking out a few men, the woman finds a guy that she likes. However, it seems that he does not like her. She, later on, sees a guy who seems interested in her as well.

The man and the woman start dancing, while Legend sings the lines to his song. The award-winning musician also shows off his dance skills in the music video.

Following the release of "A Good Night," Legend released a statement explaining what the track is all about.

"The song and video are about a magical night where you meet someone you immediately connect with and can envision a future together. You're single, dating, probably using all the apps people use now (I haven't dated since the advent of Tinder, etc., but it's a fascinating era in romance), and not finding someone special. But one night - maybe caught up in the music or the drinks or whatever - you meet someone that changes everything," said Legend.

John Legend Talks About His Forthcoming Album

On Friday, Legend also talked about his upcoming album and said that it is not finished yet. He decided to release "A Good Night" to give his fans a new track for the spring and summer. He said that he wants to make his supporters feel good.

"I've done this kind of thing before, but I think people associated me with romantic ballads or political civil rights anthems. My career really covers a range of songs, but certain songs have kind of become my signature... But this is part of me; it takes me back to 'Tonight (Best You Ever Had)' and 'Green Light.' It's not a foreign concept for me to do this type of song," explained Legend.
