Chaka Khan shows off her singing chops on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The 65-year-old singer performed "I'm Every Woman" on the show.

Talk show host Jimmy Kimmel introduced Khan before her performance. The award-winning singer, who was dressed in an all-black ensemble, immediately belted out her high notes. Her low register did not also disappoint.

"I'm Every Woman" is featured in the singer's self-titled album Chaka. It was released in 1978. A video of the singer's performance has also been uploaded on YouTube. As of this writing, the over four-minute clip has already been viewed over 22,000 times.

Chaka Khan Talks About Her Addiction

In recent years, Khan has spoken publicly about her battles with addiction. In 2017, she told The Guardian that her struggles helped her become the person she is today.

"My struggles with addiction [to alcohol, prescription drugs, and heroin] have made me the amazing human being I am now. I have no regrets and wouldn't change a thing. I'm genuinely surprised I'm still here, though. I don't know what I've done to deserve this," said Khan.

Khan also said that when she dies, she wants her epitaph to say that she was a good girl and a good person.

Singer Talks About Other Artists

During the same interview, the singer weighed in on today's artists and said that some of them are given opportunities even though they are not very talented. The same cannot be said about the time she started in the music business.

Regardless of people's talents, Khan said that she still gets excited whenever she hears someone else sing her songs.

"It's as addictive as doing drugs when you see people singing your song back at you. It's a kind of love I only get on stage," said Khan.
