Tameka Raymond's emergency custody hearing over her two sons with R&B singer Usher begins today. The hearing was called after Usher Raymond V was hospitalized after suffering a nearly deadly accident in the family pool. Tameka has called upon lil' Usher's aunt Rena to testify as to how the accident occurred, but she could not be found to be served with a subpoena.

Sources close to the situation tell TMZ, Tameka Raymond attempted to serve Usher's aunt Rena with a subpoena to testify at the custody hearing today -- where Tameka will argue she deserves primary custody of her and Usher's two sons -- but Rena couldn't be tracked down.

We're told Tameka wanted Rena at the hearing so her lawyers could ask about what led up to the near-drowning of her 5-year-old son on Monday ... when Rena was supposed to be watching him ... but without the subpoena, Rena doesn't have to show up.

Usher Raymond V was sent to the ICU on Monday after getting his arm stuck in a pool drain. Reports say he was going after a toy when he got stuck. Rena dove in after him but could not remove his arm from the drain. Two contractors working at the house stepped in and freed the 5-year-old boy.

Tameka posted a picture of herself with lil Usher in the hospital in what is believed to be an attempt to turn public perception against her famous ex-husband. However, as we reported, that didn't seem to work out well.

What do you think of the Usher-Tameka Raymond custody case?
