After the backlash that Lizzo received on her now-changed ableist lyric, Cardi B has weighed in on how she would respond if it were her.

A few days back, the "About Damn Time" was called out online after her newly-released song "Grrrls" contained an ableist lyric in the first few seconds.

Some fans cry "unfair" that only Lizzo was called out on her lyrics, while other bigger artist runs free - in this case, the "Invasion of Privacy" hitmaker.

Lizzo 'Grrrls' Ableist Lyric Changed

"Grrrls," the second single she released on her much-awaited album, "Special," kept social media abuzz after disability advocates spotted the use of the derogatory slur "spazz" on the first few lines of her song.

The use of the ableist word made rounds all over TikTok and Twitter, calling the singer out, who had been at the forefront of advocating body positivity, for her problematic use of the slur.

After hearing out the thoughts of her fans, Lizzo took responsibility for the callout. She then proceeded to release a statement on Twitter, explaining that she never wanted to promote derogatory language.

In this case, Lizzo announced that she would be releasing a new version of the song with the lyric change.

From "I'mma spazz," the singer changed it to "Hold me back."

As an influential artist I'm dedicated to being part of the change I've been waiting to see in the world," Lizzo wrote.

But due to this lookup, some fans pointed out that it was not just Lizzo who had been using derogatory slurs in their song. The person in focus is her frequent collaborator - Cardi B.
