The "Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania" trailer has just dropped, and it largely featured a song from Rocket Man Elton John that many have grown very curious about.

IGN reports "Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania" as the first film that kicks off the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 5. "Black Panther: Wakanda Forver" marks the end of the years-long cinema and television saga of Phase 4, following the aftermath of "Avengers: Endgame."

With the trailer of the upcoming film dropping yesterday, fans were mesmerized by the new world that the film is about to uncover - the Quantum realm.

But what piqued the interest of many avid Marvel fans was the use of Elton John's song "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road."

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the use of music on its trailer has played a huge role in giving fans the feel and the vibe of the film before it was released.

According to Screen Rant, the Elton John classic hit suited the trailer for "Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania" perfectly as it summed up various aspects of the story.

Bernie Taupin, one of John's collaborators on the "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" alluded in the interview that the song is a metaphor for Dorothy's experience in "The Wizard of Oz," where the Yellow Brick Road was famously included in.

Taupin regarded the yellow brick road as a symbol of "treachery and deceit," just like in the famous story - which had led the lead character Dorothy to the con artist of a Wizard.

"I just don't believe I was ever that naive. I think I was just hoping that maybe there was a happy medium way to exist successfully in a more tranquil setting," Taupin told American Songwriter.

The same challenges that Dorothy faced in the story likely mirror Scott Lang, played by Paul Rudd, and his family's journey in the Quantumania, a journey he wouldn't have thought would lead him to Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors.

Rolling Stone listed "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" in the Top 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and on the UK Singles Chart at No. 6 since its release in 1973.

Meanwhile, "Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania" is set for a theatrical release in the United States on February 17, 2023.
