Katy Perry never supported Rihanna's troublesome relationship with Chris Brown - and their friendship fizzled because of it. But it appears that the sexy songstresses have since made-up! RiRi was spotted at Perry's pre-album release party for "Roar" in NYC on Tuesday, August 13. The "Diamonds" beauty completely adores her "Fireworks" gal pal... but that doesn't mean that she needs any help "being saved."

In the August 2013 issue of UK's Elle magazine, Perry explained her thoughts on the whole Chrianna drama:

"I love her [Rihanna] and every time I see her, I'm reminded of the light that she has... There's a lot of dark in this business. I know a lot of people out there with the most detrimental entourages - they are the root of their demise. It's really unfortunate but you can't save these people. My days of celebrity saving are over."

RiRi was initially mad at Perry's remarks, but she's ready to work on their friendship. She was allegedly thrilled when John Mayer's sweeite invited her to the private NYC dinner event in the West Village. A Hollywood Life insider says:

"Ri and Katy aren't about to let a little incident ruin they're friendship...They were never on bad terms, really. Katy said some stuff, Rihanna didn't give a damn or need help from anyone, so it's like it never really happened."

The source continues, "Simply put, Rihanna didn't mention much about him at the party other than telling Katy, 'I hope he's good and I wish him well.' No hard feelings - there's just way more to her life than her relationship with Chris Brown."
