A Dolly Parton musical is finally in the works, and we might be getting it as early as June 2023!

However, it is not clear if it would be the same as the new Dolly Parton musical autobiographical jukebox she has revealed to be working on since 2016.

Dolly Parton Musical 'Here You Come Again' Details

According to Playbill, Connecticut's Goodspeed Musicals will be mounting a Dolly Parton-themed musical in their upcoming season at the Terris Theatre.

The new Dolly Parton Musical "Here You Come Again" will be produced by Emmy-winning producers, Bruce Vilanch, Gabriel Barre, and Tricia Paoluccio.

The Dolly Parton Musical "Here You Come Again" is expected to air starting Jul. 26, 2023, until Aug. 27, 2023.

Based on the premise of the new Dolly Parton Musical, "Here You Come Again," follows a down-on-his-luck avid Dolly Parton fan who received a few intimate lessons from the world-renowned music icon herself.

The songs from the new Dolly Parton Musical "Here You Come Again" will feature some of her classics like "9 to 5," "Jolene," and "Islands in the Stream," which will be among many others that will be heard in the upcoming show.

Barre will be directing and choreographing the new Dolly Parton Musical "Here You Come Again." Notably, it premiered at the Delaware Theatre Company last year, with shows at Florida's Kravis Center, Texas' Casa Mañana, Tennessee's Studio Tenn, and Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera.

Dolly Parton Autobiographical Musical

In the past, Dolly Parton has teased that there would be an autobiographical jukebox musical in honor of her life journey and her decorated musical career. It would be reminiscent of musical shows from other music icons like Donna Summer, Cher, Neil Diamonds, and even Carole King, among many others.

As of this writing, the impact of the new Dolly Parton Musical "Here You Come Again" has yet to be determined on the still-unfinished version of Parton's autobiographical musical.

Like the new musical, it was also said to be featuring some of her well-loved classic songs.

"We're telling my life story as a musical with some new songs. The hits will be in it, but I've written a lot of new music as well," she told Fox at the time.
