Vanessa Hudgens has been hailed as the "Queen of Coachella" because of how she became instrumental in popularizing the said indie festival way back years ago. However, as Coachella 2023 nears the end of its first weekend, the Queen seemed to be missing in action - where could she be?

Why is Vanessa Hudgens Not In Coachella 2023?

Every time Coachella takes place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, annually, festivalgoers have always expected to see Vanessa Hudgens there!

In 2020, when the pandemic hit and the annual arts and music festival was canceled, many claimed that the reason why she lashed out in an "insensitive" comment towards COVID-19, was because of the festival cancellation.

"I'm sorry but like, it's a virus, I get it, like, I respect it but at the same time like, even if everybody gets it, like, yeah people are gonna die which is terrible but like, inevitable? I don't know maybe I shouldn't be doing this right now," she said back then which made her a target of harsh online criticism and backlash not just from fans but actors from the industry too.

Very recently, Hudgens posted a photo of herself missing out on this year's festivities again.

"The Coachella fomo is real," she shared on Instagram as she sported what others see as an envious smirking face. But some fans ask why was she not in Coachella 2023?

Turns out, the reason why Vanessa Hudgens is not in the Coachella 2023 is because she is in the Philippines. Hudgens, a Filipino-American native, is currently exploring her Filipino heritage as she shoots a travel documentary in the tropical country, Variety reports.

"I feel like ours is such a relatable story to so many women all over the world. The more that we can share, the more we can lift each other up," she said in a statement.
