John Lennon might be deceased for decades now, but his music and legacy continued to live on to the next generations as he had a massive impact to the world.

Not only did he influence young people with his talent in music, but also some of his closest friends, including the living legend Paul McCartney.

In a new podcast titled "McCartney: A Life in Lyrics," the singer opened up how the late Beatles member continues to inspire him in terms of songwriting even though he's not around anymore.

He noted that whenever he writes music, he would always wonder what would Lennon think of his work and will change the track if he would have thought of it as "too soppy."

"Often I'll sort of refer... 'What would John think of this? He'd have thought it was too soppy, so I'll change it," he said. (via The Independent)

Paul McCartney Recalls Songwriting With John Lennon

Elsewhere in the podcast episode, Paul McCartney then took a trip to memory lane and recall how easy it was to write music with his good friend.

The reason why it was easier for them to create a song was because there were "two minds at work."

"That interplay was miraculous. You don't have this opposing element so much [now]. I have to do that myself," he added.

Later on, he opened up that Lennon insisted his then-girlfriend Yoko Ono to be present in the recording studio while the Beatles record their songs.
