LeAnn Rimes is not taking any chances, the singer immediately underwent surgery to get rid of precancerous cells that were found following an abnormal pap smear.

"Over the past couple of years, I've either been going through dental surgeries or recovering from a vocal hemorrhage around this time, which was all pretty depressing. But, I have to say, this January has been joyful and easeful," the "How Do I Live" singer wrote in her social media post. "However, yesterday, I underwent a minor surgery."

She also noted how "January is usually a challenging month for [her]" especially in the last couple of years, all due to her extensive dental and vocal chord surgeries.

According to reports, during her annual pap smear, Rimes' doctor sounded the alarm, however, apparently, her pap smears coming back abnormal is normal for her.

"In fact, I've had abnormal paps since I was 17, and through regular pap smears and colposcopies, my doctors have been keeping an eye on any cellular changes," she added.

LeAnn Rimes Gets Ahead Cancer

According to her doctor, it was best that Rimes undergo a Loop Electrosurgical Excision procedure to remove the "high-grade, abnormal, precancerous cells."

As per reports, a Loop Electrosurgical Excision or LEEP procedure gets rid of precancerous cells from the cervix with the use of a "a small wire loop that is attached to an electrical current."

"I've had enough trauma in my life already, so I prefer to be out and comfortable," the "I Need You" singer continued. "That, my friends, is advocating for your overall, mental wellness and comfort and I HIGHLY recommend it!"

She has always been so forthcoming with her other health concerns as well as her mental health struggles, and even encouraged others to get tested and regularly visit their doctors.

LeAnn Rimes Promotes Women's Sexuality, Bodies

This is not the first time Rimes has encouraged others to be more in tune with their bodies.

In August 2022, the singer wanted to put an end to the "shame" around women's sexuality and bodies with her album "God's Work."

"There's such a narrative around women as we age, how we can become disposable," Rimes said.

"That narrative is slowly changing, but I believe women like myself can lead an example of how vibrant life can be. Jane Fonda is on my vision board!"

"I explore my sexuality and the way I was raised," she continued. "As women in this world, so much is ripped from us. I started to question all those narratives and bring my whole self back online and be whole in this world. And it feels very powerful."
