Taylor Swift celebrated her one-year anniversary with Travis Kelce in style. But a body expert claimed she may seem to have been expecting so much more than a lavish date.
The star was spotted enjoying a luxurious evening at the £17,000-a-night Grand Hotel Tremezzo in Lake Como with the NFL tight end to mark a year of being in love.
Analyzing images from Taylor and Travis' extravagant night out, body language professional Judi James tells the Mirror that the singer appears "in the mood for a proposal."
She elaborates, "The setting could hardly have been more romantic for a dinner for two."
The photos also showed Swift and Kelce indulged in a candlelit dinner, exchanging loving gazes as they engaged in deep conversation.
At one point, the "So High School" singer leaned in close to the football player, propping her head up with her hand and giving him a soft smile. The expert claimed all these are perfect for a proposal to happen and Swift seemed to be in anticipation of such happening.
The expert however said that Travis Kelce seems to be the one not ready to do so yet.
"Those candles on the ground encircling their table and the sumptuous surroundings, it might be seen as almost churlish for a guy not to get down on one knee at some stage between the courses," Judi explained to Mirror. "Taylor's body language shows at least four key signs of her romantic mood here, too. There is her arm encircling Travis' waist as they walk together; the way how when he hangs his arm around her shoulders she grasps his dangling hand in her own in a reciprocal gesture to let him know she loves the PDAs."
She added to the outlet, "The way she seems to close in for a kiss as they walk and then her intense, undivided and flattering eye attention as they sit at the table. Taylor leans in closer across the table here, even cupping her chin in her hand to make herself look besotted and in love. Travis's romantic gesturing is less convincing here though. His arm around her shoulders is hanging casually and his other hand is shoved into his pocket."
"He seems to be there for the kiss and hopefully instigates it, which would create some matching signals but when he sits at the table with Taylor his expression looks unsmiling and there are moments when he seems to be gazing downward rather than returning her intense focus and even hunched back in his seat as she is leaning out across the table."
This doesn't necessarily mean Kelce isn't deeply in love. He might simply not be ready to take that significant step just yet. However, the expert suggests that if they're already celebrating their first anniversary in such a romantic setting, one can only imagine how breathtaking an actual proposal would be.
She said, "they do seem to be holding hands across the table in some poses that look romantic enough to keep the fans happy but if there's no proposal in a setting like this when you're celebrating a year of dating it might be hard to imagine what venue and occasion Travis has got in mind for when he finally pops the question."
It's not surprising though if the body expert is correct in saying Swift is ready. According to some Swifties, she essentially sings about thinking about settling down in her new album. Not only does the lyrics of one of the songs, "The Alchemy" appear to be about their relationship (so many football references, so little time), fans also think another song, "So High School" is about wanting to get married to Kelce.
