Sean "Diddy" Combs did not get everyone's support when he apologized after the release of the disturbing 2016 video of him kicking and assaulting Cassie Ventura.
After CNN released the exclusive footage of Combs assaulting Cassie Ventura at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles, Calif., the Bad Boy Records founder released a video on Instagram to apologize for what he did.
He added the text, "I'm truly sorry," as the caption, but not everyone was happy with the revelation and his move.
Jessica Rose Schrody wrote, "You called her a liar. Time did exactly what it was supposed to and you deserve every awful thing that's coming your way."
"Are just sorry because the world saw it? If you are sorry, publicly offer her an apology," another wrote, while a third said, "OMG. You swore you did nothing wrong. You gaslighted her and all of us, and ONLY now that the video came out, you're sorry. Bro, go away."
Meanwhile, others reminded everyone to pray for both parties' healing instead.
One wrote, "I'm just saying we not GOD to persecute people. Let's normalize Praying for people instead of tearing them down. Praying for him and praying for Cassie. Praying for healing for all parties. The world needs so much prayers right now."
"I don't know much. And I don't care too much. It's beyond my tax bracket lol. But Inna REAL life. To my people... 'He who is without sin, cast the first stone,'" another added.
In the apology video, the hip-hop mogul said he was disgusted by his actions and that he was
f----- up at the time. He admitted that his behavior on the video was inexcusable.
"I take full responsibility for my actions in that video," Combs said. "I was disgusted then when I did it. I'm disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I'm so sorry. But I'm committed to be a better man each and every day. I'm not asking for forgiveness. I'm truly sorry."
Meanwhile, Ventura's lawyer told CBS News the statement was "more about himself than the many people he has hurt."
On the other hand, the Los Angeles District Attorney's office said in an Instagram post that it could not prosecute Combs despite the horrifying video as the window to do so has lapsed.
