Justin Timberlake making light of his recent DWI arrest, which is at the core of the swirling divorce buzz between him and his wife Jessica Biel, has made things so much worse for him.

The mother of a victim in a drunken-driving crash has voiced her disappointment following Justin Timberlake's apparent jest about his June 18 DWI during a Saturday show in Boston.

"So, uh, is there anyone here tonight that is driving - no, I'm just kidding," he remarked during the performance, seemingly making light of the possibility that his audience members might be driving under the influence. Timberlake thanked his fans for their support over the past 30 years.

The former *NSYNC star faces charges of driving while intoxicated, along with citations for failure to keep correct and failure to stop at a stop sign, stemming from an alleged incident after midnight in the Hamptons, New York, last month.

Sheila Lockwood, whose 23-year-old son Austin was killed by a drunken driver in 2018, expressed her dismay to Fox News Digital, stating that Timberlake has lost one of his fans due to his remarks in Boston. She emphasized that "there is nothing funny about" the charges against the international pop star.

"It's very disappointing. He has a huge platform that he could be using to bring awareness to this," Lockwood remarked. "It is a national crisis. Every 79 seconds, someone's killed or injured from drunk driving, and he's standing on stage making a joke of it. It's not funny."

Lockwood noted as well that since Timberlake's legal case is still ongoing, he should have kept mum about it. Joking about it reveals his true colors. The mom believes the singer should have seized "the opportunity to make it a teaching moment and raise awareness and admit that his choices were not good that night."

"It's not funny, and as a mom that has lost a son, it's very disheartening. He lost a fan here. I don't think it was appropriate, and there's nothing funny about it. What message does it send to young fans?" she said.

Amid all of these, and despite the intense split rumors going on, Biel has been quite quiet about the whole thing - from the crash to the jokes. Some said this disappoints them because the wife is just acting like a "fan girl" who is not willing to set her wrong husband straight.

When the singer faced criticism after being arrested and charged with DWI, it prompted many to await a public reaction from his wife.

Despite this, she has consistently shown support for her husband.

Sources now suggest that the former NSYNC frontman is grappling with personal challenges and may require assistance, but those close to him, especially Biel, are hesitant to address the issue directly.

Biel also coddles her husband, a source told In Touch Weekly.

"It's a bad look all the way around, and you wish Jessica would step up and be the one to set Justin straight, but she's still just as much of a fangirl as everybody else in his circle," says the source.

Fans themselves wish she will speak up already.
