Music legend Kenny Rogers passed away two years ago in hospice. But since then, a proper memorial for the icon has not been held yet until recently.

Last March 20, 2022, a group of the icon's close friends, band members, and family gathered to commemorate the two years of his passing.

Kenny Rogers had a poignant and moving sendoff with over fifteen speakers recounting Kenny Rogers anecdotes of a life well-lived.

The event culminated with the Dr. T. Lynn Smith and Friends gospel choir performing "Amazing Grace" accompanied with a pre-recorded Kenny Rogers voice and a rendition of "Will The Circle Be Unbroken," a long time Kenny favorite.

As the visitors poured out, the celebration was highlighted by an Irish sendoff by Brigadier General (Ret.) Richard McPhee.

Family and Friends of the late Kenny Rogers were taken aback by a special surprise.

Kenny Rogers' 'Goodbye' New Lyric Video

After the reception, a brand new lyric video for Kenny Rogers' "Goodbye," which was written by Rock Hall 2022 nominee Lionel Richie" debuted for the first time to the attendees.

"Goodbye" was Rogers' last recorded song before he passed away, a ballad that was hauntingly his swan song to his bustling discography stemming since the 1970s.

With the debut of the new lyric video, Kenny Rogers' family extended the viewing and visiting of the late icon's final resting place at the Oakland Cemetery.

Over more than 60 years, Kenny Rogers made an indelible mark on the history of American music with his songs and videos. People worldwide love his songs and have been moved by them.

"The Gambler," "Lady," "Islands In The Stream," "Lucille," "She Believes in Me," and "Through the Years" are just a few of Kenny Rogers' best-known songs.

Rogers, who had twenty-four number one hits, was a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, won six CMA Awards, three Grammy Awards, and was considered one of the best-selling artists of all time as he sold more than 100 million records worldwide.

Rogers also won the CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.
