"Saving Private Ryan" actor and Day 8 member Tom Sizemore has died. He was 61.
Sizemore's manager, Charles Lago, issued a statement to different news outlets including People and Yahoo! Entertainment confirming the singer-actor's death. He confirmed that Sizemore, whose real name was Thomas Edward Sizemore, passed away peacefully in his sleep at St. Joseph's Hospital Burbank two weeks after his hospitalization.
His brother, Paul, and his twins Jayden and Jagger were reportedly by his side when he took his last breath.
"I am deeply saddened by the loss of my big brother Tom," Paul Sizemore said. "He was larger than life. He has influenced my life more than anyone I know. He was talented, loving, giving and could keep you entertained endlessly with his wit and storytelling ability. I am devastated he is gone and will miss him always."
Sizemore's representative added that the Day 8 member's twins are devastated by his passing.
Lago also confirmed that the cremation service would be private for the bereaved family. However, there will also be a larger celebration of life event which will be scheduled in the next few weeks.
The manager ended his statement by noting how Sizemore was getting his life back to a great place following several legal issues in the past.
Tom Sizemore's Cause of Death Revealed
The statements did not disclose Tom Sizemore's cause of death, but his passing came after he was hospitalized following a brain aneurysm from a stroke on Feb. 18.
The singer-actor was found in his Los Angeles home around 2 a.m. that day and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was soon declared in critical condition.
Days after he was first admitted, Lago revealed that his doctors had already told his family there was no further hope for him. They also suggested the end of life decision, with the family's answer expected to be out on Wednesday.
Before Tom Sizemore's death, he was tapped to teach at Harvelle's Nightclub in Los Angeles for a weekly acting class.
Sizemore was more famous as an actor, having starred in several notable films and dramas, including "Black Hawk Down," "Pearl Harbor," "True Romance," "Strange Days," "Devil in a Blue Dress," and "The Relic."
Unbeknown to most of his fans, Sizemore also had a career as a musician. According to his IMDb page, he served as the lead singer of the Hollywood rock band, Day 8, which he established in 2002 with Rod Casho, Lester Mendoza, Michael Taylor, and Tyrone Tomke.
Day 8, which was originally called The Bystanders, released an EP containing four singles.
