Matty Healy has come under fire from Azealia Banks for his debatable comments regarding the rapper Ice Spice.

The 1975's main singer faced backlash in February when he argued whether Ice Spice was of Inuit, Hawaiian, or Chinese descent and made light of each dialect.

Azealia slammed Matty in a slew of Instagram posts after podcast parts reappeared online.

She first hinted that NOBODY considers the 1975 to be decent musicians and it feels as if Matty Healy does not know it.

She added that Healy is a mere lame poser with a trashy cliché band name that actually means nothing, and that he's obviously so desperate that a black girl who has no idea who he is or what his music is doing is making more moves and money than him. It appers that Banks is very, very angry and could lessen the sting of her words.

Because female rap is BIG BUSINESS today, black ladies are more in demand, Azealia Banks said.

She also brought up Matty's claim from the show that he tried to get in touch with Ice Spice on Instagram but got no response.

The 1975's lead vocalist was described as "not a star" by Azealia, who also implied that Matty was acting in the "small white opinionated male musician thing," adding that the band "is on nobody's radar, babe."

Following the uproar, Matty made an open apology to Ice Spice at a concert. He acknowledged that he was "a little bit" fan-baiting, but argued that his comments "actually don't matter" when The New Yorker contacted him about the podcast earlier this week. Matty is thought to be dating Taylor Swift, who most recently worked with Ice Spice on a cover of her song Karma.

Due to Matty's long history of questionable words and behavior, Taylor's public relationship with the British singer has angered some of her admirers. Taylor has remained muted despite her followers speaking out about their worries about Matty, earning her the label of "another complicit white woman."

As a direct result of Taylor's relationship with Matty, her fans have canceled their preorders for her upcoming album and sold their seats to her tour.

When Matty strongly denied relationship rumors with Taylor Swift in 2016 and argued that it would be "emasculating" to be her boyfriend, he even made fun of the singer herself.
