Famed Radio City DJ Johnny Kennedy has died, multiple media outlets revealed.
Kennedy, who also had careers as a comedian and vocalist, received heartfelt tributes after the companies he worked with in the past disclosed his death in several statements. He famously hosted Radio City, River Radio, Wirral Radio and Dune FM.
What Was Johnny Kennedy's Cause of Death?
According to the Daily Mail, Kennedy passed away following his battle with an undisclosed long illness.
His son, John Kennedy, paid tribute to his father who died at the age of 88. He revealed that the patriarch died "peacefully, in no pain."
Dune FM, an independent radio station, released an announcement as it paid tribute to the late fundraiser.
"Very sad news to hear that radio legend Johnny Kennedy has sadly passed away," it said. "Johnny not only worked with us from our launch day as Sandgrounder Radio in June 2016 for a few years but also when we ran the station on a temporary 28-day broadcast licence in 2015. Our thoughts are with Johnny's friends and family at this very sad time. RIP JK JD."
More individuals also shared their tributes online, including his colleagues.
Neil Newton wrote, "Really sad to hear of the passing of a great friend, mentor and my radio Dad - Johnny Kennedy. From answering the phones for JKJD at Radio City, to Dune FM, River Radio, Wirral Radio and Sandgrounder, we worked together since 1996. Rest in peace JK. Love you."

Remembering Johnny Kennedy
From his work as a DJ, vocalist and comedian, Kennedy also expanded his empire by starring as Joe Wragg in the productions of "Her Benny" for three decades.
Kennedy supported up-and-coming acts in Liverpool while also working on his own career. On top of his gigs, he also presented shows like 7 Waves 92.1 and Sandgrounder Radio.
Behind the cameras, he was a "devoted husband" to his wife, Linda, who survived him.
