Lovers & Friends Festival announced its official lineup a few days ago and fans were excited to see Mary J. Blige's name as one of the performers. However, the singer just revealed that there was something wrong with the announcement as she will not take the stage at the upcoming event; what happened?
According to Billboard, the annual event announced on social media that Blige was among the official performers for the event that will take place in Las Vegas on May 4, but the musician quickly called out the event share that there was an error.
Taking to her official Instagram account, the singer shared to her stories that she is "beyond humble by the response from all of you" after her name was announced as a performer.
However, she clarified that her "inclusion was an error," adding, "I will be busy in preparation for my Strength of a Woman Summit just one week later!"
"I have the greatest fans in the world and can't wait to see you in New York in a few months," she concluded.
Why is Mary J. Blige Not Performing at Lovers & Friends Festival
As what the musician said in her post, she will be present at the Strength of a Woman Summit, but the outlet clarified that the upcoming event has yet to announce its official lineup and dates.
On the other hand, an insider spoke with the outlet to reveal that Blige's representatives already demanded the festival to remove the singer's name from their posters over the past 24 hours.

As of this writing, organizers for Lovers & Friends Festival have yet to share an official statement about the matter.

Although Mary J. Blige won't perform at the event, there are other legendary music acts that will take the stage to entertain their loyal supporters.
This year's official lineup include Janet Jackson, Lil Wayne, Usher, Backstreet Boys, Gwen Stefani, Nelly Furtado, Alicia Keys, Nas, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Ashanti, JaRule, Ciara, TLC, M.I.A., Akon, Ne-Yo, and so much more.
Usher, who had also been a headliner for the past two years, is set to play songs from his album "Confessions" while Lil Wayne will perform tracks to celebrate the anniversary of his "Tha Carter III" album.
A ticket pre-sale will begin on January 26, 2024, at 10 a.m. PST while the rest of the tickets will be sold at a later date.
