The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People or NAACP has announced its nominees for the 2024 NAACP Image Awards.
The NAACP Image Awards awards the excellence of colored people in media in various categories, including cinema, television, literature, podcast, design, and music.
Victoria Monet leads the pack with six nominations, including Oustanding New Artist, Outstanding Female Artist, and Outstanding Album. (via Variety)
Meanwhile, Fantasia Barrino was nominated for Entertainer of the Year and Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture for her impressive performance in the movie musical "The Color Purple." Halle Bailey was also nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture for "The Little Mermaid" and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for "The Color Purple."
"The Color Purple" is also nominated for Oustanding Motion Picture despite failing to bag any Oscar nomination.
