James Arthur intends to take a "couple of years" hiatus from music in order to make an unexpected professional move.

James became an overnight sensation after winning "The X Factor" in 2012, going on to sell over 30 million records globally.

However, the 35-year-old singer hopes to attempt something different and go in a different route with his career.

James has one more release left on his contract after releasing his fifth album, "Bitter Sweet Love."

Before his upcoming album is released, he intends to take a break and give acting a go.

James said to The Sun that he enjoys acting a little in his videos, but it has to be the right project.

He added that he eventually likes to put the music on hold for a few years and dedicate myself entirely to acting.

"I will do that after my next album. Then take a bit of a hiatus and focus on my acting because I've got one more album on my record deal," he surmised.

These plans are seemingly made after James had kidney stones and was taken to the hospital following the Pride of Britain Awards in October of last year.

The celebrity described how he was in excruciating pain during the star-studded event when talking about the tragedy on Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden at the time. His agony started right before he stepped onto the red carpet, and he took a lot of paracetamol in preparation for his performance, which he barely made it through.

He explained that ,"It started just before I hit the red carpet, I was all suited and booted, I started to feel this pain in my left...crown jewel shall I say."

He explained that "this pain just sort of got progressively worse the further I got down this red carpet, I got back into the dressing room and I was rolling around on the floor in agony and I thought, what have I done here, this is crazy?"

He added that he "loaded up on paracetamol and even at 10/10 pain already, he was committed to giving his performance.

James Arthur has not released anything since 2021 after "It'll All Make Sense In The End." With this new album, he is able to chronicle the ups and downs of a romantic relationship and is full of powerful, gut-punching rock songs and soaring love ballads.
