Ariana Grande took a step back from music to pursue acting and starring in the upcoming movie "Wicked," but now that filming is officially over, the singer is feeling nostalgic and sad.
"This was a mildly large production," Grande began in the lengthy statement, bidding the cast, crew, and set of "Wicked" farewell. "With so many brilliant human beings who worked so, so hard in every department.
"Every single person that worked on these films was not only the absolute best at what they do but made every single day for over a year feel so incredibly safe... kind and thoughtful and inspired every day as it were always the first."
The "Dangerous Woman" singer dropped everything when she first found out she was cast as Glinda the Good Witch in the upcoming film.
She had just finished wrapping up the promotions for her latest album "Positions," before she promptly took time off to focus on filming the movie.
Ariana Grande Reflects on Filming 'Wicked' Movie
Grande expressed that she has always dreamt of being part of the production or cast in "Wicked" since she was a child in several instances throughout the years.
Even during filming, Grande shared snippets of how great of a time she had alongside her castmates, especially Cynthia Erivo.
"How something so much bigger than all of us could feel so intimate and small and warm is beyond me," she added. "I have so many stories that I can't wait to share but for now....
"My heart sincerely, physically aches that I will not be sharing every day with this crew anymore. Thank you for your brilliance and the many handholds and hugs along the way."
Ariana Grande Returns to Music With 'Eternal Sunshine' Album
According to reports, the "Pov" singer is returning to the music scene with an upcoming and highly awaited album "Eternal Sunshine."
Grande dropped "Yes, and?" the first single off the album, which debuted atop the music charts.
The song is allegedly a response to the homewrecker allegations people have been hurling at her following her divorce from Dalton Gomez and since the start of her relationship with "Wicked" co-star Ethan Slater.
Slater's ex-wife, Lilly Jay, claimed that the singer is "the story, really" before calling her "not a girl's girl."
