Megan Thee Stallion was probably expecting some backlash from her newly released song "Hiss" when she released it, but she probably did not expect that Nicki Minaj would go on a tirade and drop a diss track in response.
After taking hits from Minaj online, the "Body" rapper simply shared a picture of red spider lilies on her Instagram Story, and as per anime fans, it is her silent and simple response to Minaj.
According to reports, Thee Stallion referenced a clip from the anime, "Tokyo Ghoul," and the meaning behind the flowers is not as wholesome as one might think because they symbolize death.
Why Megan Thee Stallion Used a 'Tokyo Ghoul' Reference
Thee Stallion is known as an anime lover among her fans, and they immediately caught on to what the rapper was hinting with the picture of the red spider lilies.
"Nicki starting beef with an anime girl is insane cause we really about to see the wrath they could unleash," one wrote.
"Anime fans know what the red spider lilies mean."
'Nicki's done for."
"She ain't playing no more," another added.
As per the Comicbook website, Red Spider Lilies symbolize the story of "Tokyo Ghoul's" protagonist Kaneki as he changes from a shy guy looking for love to a half-ghoul.
Many fans also alluded that there might also be some significance why Thee Stallion chose the anime specifically since Kaneki experienced trauma and abuse from his mother.
"The way she's drawing inspiration from 'Tokyo Ghoul' where Kaneki is hunted down/abused & as he's going through hell, he's struggling [with] the loss of his mom which sends him into a death of his old self & a birth of his new ghoul form. I love her nerdy brain," one wrote.
"It's fact that after this scene Kaneki beats the absolute living s**t out of his captor Jason and then proceeded to eat him."
Nicki Minaj Drops Diss Track 'Big Foot' About Megan Thee Stallion
Minaj's new song "Big Foot" is loaded with allegations and insults directed at Thee Stallion.
According to reports, the "Super Bass" rapper also mentioned Thee Stallion's late mother, Holly Thomas, who died in March 2019 due to cancer.
Netizens expressed their disgust and disappointment towards Minaj's new song, while some even questioned her sanity.
