Lana Del Rey made true of her promise from last year that she will be switching genres as she confirmed an upcoming album that will be in the country music genre.
"If you can't already tell by our award winners and our performers, the music business is going country. We're going country. It's happening," The "Born to Die" singer said during her appearance at the Billboard Power 100 Party 2024.
Aside from that she also noted that she went to Nashville, Mississippi, and Muscle Shoals over the last four years with her long-time producer and collaborator Jack Antonoff.
According to reports, the upcoming album titled "Lasso" is expected in September of later this year.
Lana Del Rey Expands Her Horizons
The news of Del Rey switching genres may not come as a surprise to some of her fans.
After releasing her latest album "Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Boulevard" in 2023 she hinted that she will be exploring music and expanding her horizons.
"The music took a huge turn from Norman, and it's been going down that path aggressively. I'm going to continue going where I feel the only next stop is, but I think it'll be in an Americana vein," Del Rey said.
"I've collected my cover songs for seven years. And I've said so much that I wanted to say, so it's an awesome time to think about that. The standards."
It seems like after six albums Del Rey already planning to switch genres and try out something new.

Lana Del Rey Leaves Fans Speechless With 'Lasso' Reveal
Following the announcement of her upcoming album fans flocked to social media to express their excitement and disappointment regarding the upcoming album.
"I'm crying and shaking uncontrollably the title is so ugly but we're streaming regardless."
"We need to trust Lana's vision y'all. She made history with NFR wearing tights and a neon green cargo jacket," Another added.
"My country heart!! aaa as a person who really love country music! im excited!!!"
"September 2024 has become my reason for pushing forward."
Many could not help but point out that this is a genre that the "Summertime Sadness" singer has never ventured into and they are worried that the music might not be as great as her previous releases.
"We lost."
"You know what. That's it. I'm going to k**l myself."
