Miley Cyrus is back on the Grammy stage.
This year's Grammy Awards will feature Miley Cyrus's debut performance at the program in five years.
When the 31-year-old pop artist sang a duet of "In My Blood" with Shawn Mendes at the 2019 Grammy Awards, her fans went into a frenzy of excitement. It has already been verified that she will make her triumphant comeback at this Sunday's awards ceremony at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Two days prior to the yearly star-studded spectacle, it was reported that Miley is expected to perform a cover of Flowers, the hit lead single from her album Endless Summer Vacation, live that evening. Less than 72 hours before the performance, on Friday afternoon at the Crypto.com arena, Miley gave a "blow-you-away good" practice, according to a source.
Even with just three nominations for Flowers-Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance-Miley is up for six Grammy Awards this Sunday. Miley's duet "Thousand Miles" with Brandi Carlile is vying for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Endless Summer Vacation is nominated for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. Endless Summer Vacation, Miley's eighth studio album, was released in March of last year. It's her first since 2020's Plastic Hearts.
Miley did not receive a Grammy Award nomination for her contribution on Plastic Hearts, nor did she make an appearance during the ceremony.
When she was just 16 years old in 2009, she made her award show debut alongside Taylor Swift, singing the song Fifteen live.
Cyrus posted a picture of the singer on Instagram on Friday. The picture showed her posing against a white background while wearing only a black bra, boy short-style underwear that fits her waist, and pointy-toed, sling-back stilettos. Cyrus put her hands on her hips and wore delicate earrings and tiny, rectangular sunglasses as accessories.
Her hair, which had blonde highlights, seemed to be blasted by a fan or wind machine and was carried away from her face. Cyrus chose to leave the photo alone and didn't add any caption at all. Fans, however, begged the singer-songwriter to perform at Sunday's ceremony in the comments section when she was at a loss for words.
One person said, "This year, it's not about the Grammys; it's about the GRAMMILEYs."
Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift have been dominating one of Billboard's radio charts alternately for the past few weeks. After keeping track of the total, one will give up control so the other can take over for a few frames. They have now switched places once more, and one of them creates history in the process.
Cyrus's single "Flowers" has put her back at the top of the Adult Contemporary chart. According to audience impressions, that song moves up from the runner-up to the top of Billboard's list of the best-performing songs at adult contemporary radio stations nationwide.
