Miley Cyrus never had a Grammy - which seems unimaginable given her following and her amazing portfolio. Not that it bothered her. But now is probably the best time for her to win one. Will she?
It remains to be seen.
Over the course of more than 15 years, the singer has sold millions of records and achieved enormous success on the charts, yet she has never taken home a Grammy.
Cyrus is back to fight for her first accolade this time around as one of the top-nominated musicians; 2024 is undoubtedly her best chance to ultimately win music's greatest prize.
Cyrus is vying for six awards in the 2024 Grammy Awards. That matches her for sixth place with a number of other celebrities, including Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, and Billie Eilish.
Although the most prestigious awards are highly competitive, it appears that the former Disney Channel star may finally be on her way to her first victory, as reported by Forbes.
The reason for her current circumstances and the possibility that she may win a Grammy later today (February 4) can be attributed to Cyrus' hit "Flowers."
Nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance, the smash helped resurrect her career. It wouldn't be too much to assume that "Flowers" would win all three.
One of the biggest songs in recent memory, the song seemed to be loved by all, and Cyrus was commended for both creating and performing such an adult song.
Many music industry experts believe that the single will likely win Record of the Year, and it has a strong chance of doing so.
With the same single, Cyrus also has a strong chance of winning Best Pop Solo Performance. Although there aren't as many contenders in that category as there are in Record of the Year, the singer faces some of the same songs in both, so the vote might go either way.
They might conclude that "Flowers" deserves both accolades, or maybe Cyrus should take home one and give the other to another performer, such as Swift or Eilish. The Song of the Year is also up for grabs, but "Flowers" doesn't appear to be the front-runner based on early projections.
Alternatively, Eilish's song "What Was I Made For?" from the Barbie soundtrack might win. The song is also up for the Academy Award for Best Original Song, and despite the fact that her song wasn't the group's biggest success, the young singer-songwriter may be gaining more traction.
Cyrus is participating in three other categories besides "Flowers," however her odds of winning in those ones don't seem to be as excellent.
Though it's not expected to win Album of the Year or Best Pop Vocal Album, her most recent full-length album Endless Summer Vacation is a possibility.
She and Brandi Carlile are also nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their song "Thousand Miles," however it is not anticipated that the song will win.
