The 2024 Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony announced the winner for this year's Best Rap Song.
Killer Mike, André 3000, Future, and Eryn Allen Kane won for "Scientists and Engineers." However, on the GRAMMYs' official Twitter/X account, Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice's "Barbie World" was announced.
Fans stormed online, protesting the said blunder. Some even speculated that the mix-up was unlikely and it seemed like Nicki Minaj's win was changed last minute.
"Nicki Minaj has been in the industry for almost 20 years now and I still don't understand HOW y'all find it so easy to disrespect her legacy by doing such unprofessional tactics. Nicki clearly deserved the award but these corps can never let her win. We Love You Nicki. ALWAYS," a fan said.
"It's giving Nicki won and every tweet was scheduled, but Roc Nation called and had the winner changed last second #GRAMMYs," another tweeted.
At one point, Nicki Minaj's Grammy Artist website also reflected the said win, also on Google.
"All Nicki Minaj fan shit ASIDE.... Fan or no fan, y'all really gotta peep what she be talking about. TO NEVER MAKE A MISTAKE LIKE THIS BEFORE but pull something like this when it comes to Nicki? This was a calculated attempt to embarrass her and this be what she's talking about," another lamented.
"Barbie World" was also nominated for Best Song Written For Visual Media but lost to Billie Eilish and FINNEAS' "What Was I Made For?"

Drake Blasts Grammy Awards After Nicki Minaj Announcement Blunder
Drake, Nicki Minaj's close friend and fellow Young Money rapper took to Instagram Stories to air out his sentiments against the Grammys.
"All you incredible artists remember this show isn't the facts it's just the opinion of a group of people who's name are kept a secret (literally you can google in) congrats to anybody winning anything for hip hop but this show doesn't dictate shit in our world," he posted.
In the past, Nicki Minaj has spoken out against The Recording Academy for blackballing her from receiving an award.
"Never forget the Grammys didn't give me my best new artist award when I had 7 songs simultaneously charting on billboard & bigger first week than any female rapper in the last decade- went on to inspire a generation. They gave it to the white man Bon Iver. #PinkFriday," she tweeted in 2020.
