When SZA's album "SOS" was snubbed at the 2024 Grammys under the most controversial and highly anticipated category, Album of the Year, netizens and fans rallied around the "Snooze" hitmaker.

The backlash and criticism have run rampant online as many expressed their disappointment and dismay over the result, which is why SZA had to step out of her Grammy glaze to address it once and for all.

"I'm grateful I won three. I could have left with nothing and I didn't, and I'm grateful," the R&B singer told The Hollywood Reporter. "My parents got to see it and I didn't bomb on live television, and that was so scary. And I faced some really big fears and I'm just happy that it all went well, genuinely. And I'm happy for everybody."

SZA's "SOS" lost to Taylor Swift's 11th studio album, "Midnights." "SOS," Olivia Rodrigo's "GUTS," and Lana Del Rey's "Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd" were among the top contenders and fan-favorites under the category.

SZA Bags Grammys For 'SOS'

According to reports, SZA's sophomore album is one of the biggest albums in 2022 all the way to today.

It produced several chart-topping hits like "Kill Bill," "Snooze," and "I Hate U," and landed atop the Billboard Hot 200.

The singer is already in gearing up to release the follow-up to "SOS," which is expected to drop any time now.

"You know, this round, I actually don't want to say anything. Just because I feel like I do myself a disservice because you can shift the energy of the album," SZA said about "Lana."

"You got to let it form itself. Because I'm not really forming anything. I'm just kind of here while energy is forming and I'm just trying to allow it to do what it needs to do, and my voice just follows whatever the frequency is."

SZA's Fans Recognize 'SOS' As True Winner

Despite SZA not winning Album of the Year, her fans still consider the singer as the one who brought home the golden gramophone trophy.

Meanwhile, there were others who lauded SZA's response to not winning the award. "This is the perfect, most mature answer that this is. So proud of you for your wins SZA, but just know SOS will always be AOTY in many of our hearts."

"They wanted her to be shady but she gave a mature response."
