According to reports, Joe Alwyn is worried that Taylor Swift would reveal information about their personal breakup on her upcoming album.
While Swifties cannot wait for the new album to drop and know all the deets, some have taken up arms against the idea that Alwyn is the bad guy here.
"The Tortured Poets Department," a Diss Album for Joe Alywn?
According to insiders, the actor, who has kept quiet about their personal breakup, will be "shocked" if Taylor uses their relationship's breakdown as an opportunity to "diss" him.
As Taylor won her Grammy for Best record on Sunday, she announced that the record, titled "The Tortured Poets Department," would be out on April 19.
Taylor is well recognized for writing many of her singles about her romantic relationships, and she had enough to write about after spending six years with Joe before their breakup. But according to people close to him, he would be shocked if the record included any personal information about their breakup.
There does seem to be one "undeniable" reference to him in the title, though.
Along with other actors Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott, Joe is a member of a group on WhatsApp called The Tortured Man Club. Fans flocked to the Instagram comment area as soon as Taylor posted the cover artwork, speculating about how much of it will be about Joe.
The album's track listing is readily accessible, and many have already started to give these titles meaning - all alluding to Joe Alwyn being the bad guy.
Joe Alywn Not The Bad Guy Even If Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce Are Perfect
Joe has not said a word about Taylor or their breakup and has been completely respectful of her," the source told the Daily Mail.
According to BuzzFeed News, just because Taylor Swift probably felt trapped, subdued, and restrained when she was with Joe Alwyn, it was something she fully agreed to be.
Remeber this interview? Joe Alwyn looks like the best boyfriend he could be for Taylor Swift.
In fact, in many of her interviews while with Alwyn, she has always been vocal about how great having a lowkey and private relationship was. If she suddenly changed her mind and wants an all-out relationship like she has with Travis Kelce now - with many experts saying she looks her freest, most authentic self yet - that is not Joe Alwyn's fault.
She changed, he did not. It should not be a cause for him to be punished.
Of course, it remains to be seen if the album is even about Joe Alwyn.
