Killer Mike made headlines last weekend after it was reported that he was escorted out of the Grammys and was arrested by authorities after a reported altercation. More recently, the rapper spoke out and recalled the night of the incident.

According to Billboard, the hip-hop artist recently dropped by on "The View" where he discussed his recent arrest at the Grammy Awards, where he won best rap album and song, and best rap performance, on the same evening.

"All of my heroes have been in handcuffs - Malcolm, Martin, Mandela, Medgar," he said.

The musician didn't stop there; he further noted that he left the venue with dignity and respect.

"I walked out with the same dignity and respect that I walked in with, and I would implore people to just take that from it," he added.

What Happened to Killer Mike at the Grammys

Later in the interview, the rapper recalled that the backstage area had a lot of people which caused security to behave more strictly than usual and he described their attitude as "overzealous."

After he got arrested and got a misdemeanor charge, the musician was detained for a few hours and he revealed that once he got released, he walked out to his wife in the rain and for him, it was like a "romance movie."

This was not the first time Killer Mike spoke out about the incident as he stated after his arrest, saying a lot was going on and some "confusion."

"We experienced an overzealous security guard, but my team and I have the utmost confidence that I will ultimately be cleared of all wrongdoing," he added.

Killer Mike Arrested at the Grammys

Last week, an insider spoke with Billboard to share what truly happened between Killer Mike and the security guard that he had an altercation with.

The incident reportedly happened outside of the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California, where the pre-show of the Grammys was held.

An hour after the rapper got his award, he went outside a secured area then he attempted to go back in, but at the time, he was accompanied by other people.

The insider was stopped by security to see his access credentials, but instead, he reportedly shoved a female official who was blocking him from entering.

He was later arrested and charged by the Los Angeles Police Department.
