Taylor Swift Performs 'You're Losing Me' Live For the First Time
The 34-year-old pop sensation opened her Eras Tour with a live performance of "You're Losing Me," a breakup song from the Late Night Edition of her album Midnights, at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne, Australia, on Friday.
In fan-filmed footage posted on social media, the Grammy winner said one of her surprise songs on the setlist was really a special one when she was sitting at the piano wearing a flowing, brilliant yellow gown.
"This song is something I've never performed live. When Swift introduced "You're Losing Me," which was released in May 2023, she stated, "It's one of my favorites."
In this song, the "Cruel Summer" singer begs a romantic partner to see that their relationship is unhealthy and to take action to keep it alive.
This Angry Version is The Best, Swifties Say
The singer delivered a powerful performance of the song. Swift sounded especially emotionally fierce during moments of the bridge, singing lyrics like, "And I wouldn't marry me either / A pathological people pleaser / Who only wanted you to see her / And I'm fadin', thinkin' / And I'm fadin', thinkin' / 'Do something, babe, say something' (Say something) / 'Lose something, babe, risk something' (You're losin' me) / 'Choose something, babe, I got nothing' (I got nothing) / 'To believe, unless you're choosin' me.'"
This is enough to garner questions from fans, asking why she' s so angry, with many giving their analysis. Swifties are known after all, to analyze lyrics, tones and undertones to the hilt.

Some said they never knew they needed an angry version til now.
Rumors surfaced in 2022 that Alwyn and Swift were engaged, but Alwyn refuted them in a WSJ interview. He declared, "If I had a pound for every time I think I've been told I've been engaged, then I'd have a lot of pound coins. I mean, the truth is, if the answer was yes, I wouldn't say, and if the answer was no, I wouldn't say."
At the time, Swifties were questioning if the beloved star's romance ended earlier than many previously believed, given the song's devastating overtones. But nothing was ever confirmed.
Having this performed live for the first time ever - and in an emotional way - had certainly sent fans into a tailspin once more.
