Grandparents Keep Accidentally Tagging Grandmaster Flash in Their Facebook Statuses

If your grandparents are on Facebook, you've probably seen them signing their names at the end of their posts, like the letters of the olden days. But because the social networking site is keen on tagging every bit of data using their auto-tag algorithms, this charming habit of signing "Grandma" has accidentally caused many grandmothers to sign Grandmaster Flash,Vulture points out.

There's even a Tumblr on the phenomenon called Love, Grandpa and Grandmaster Flash that can attest to the surprising number of senior citizens who are mistakenly signing messages to their loved ones as the hip-hop pioneer thanks to Facebook's auto-tagging suggestion algorithms.

Grandmaster Flash, who is 56 and old enough to be a grandparent himself sympathized with his new elderly Facebook followers in a new post to his page.

"It's true I get a lot of posts from Grandmas," he wrote. "Hilarious now I know why --- Respect Grandma and Grandpa P.S. This is Hop Hop!" Maybe he meant Hip (Replacement) Hop.

Check out a few examples of the phenomenon below. Has your grandparent ever accidently signed their name as Grandmaster Flash? Let us know in the comments section!
