Lainey Wilson is not threatened by Beyoncé entering the country music arena, in fact, she offered the "Break My Soul" hitmaker some tips.
"I love it," the Grammy-winning country star said when asked about Beyoncé's crossover into country music. "The more the merrier. I'm like, again, it's about that storytelling. It's just about making people feel at home... and everybody wants to feel at home."
The "Heart Like a Truck" singer expressed her enthusiasm and excitement about Beyoncé releasing country music, and even called out the country music stations for refusing to play "Texas Hold 'Em" and "16 Carriages."
"Hey, you know what? Everybody is going [to] have something to say about everything. I bet you wouldn't say it to her face," she added. "I love Beyoncé."
Beyoncé Announces Country Album
According to reports, Beyoncé shocked the music industry when she announced that she would be releasing "Renaissance Act II" on Mar. 29.
However, what caught her fans' attention was her music direction; instead of releasing music in genres she has been known for, Beyoncé revealed that her upcoming project will be completely different.
While many were caught off guard by the direction she was headed, Beyhives, the singer's fans, thought it was fitting since she was born and raised in Texas, home to many country musicians.
In fact, Beyoncé has performed alongside The Chicks at the Country Music Association Awards in 2016.
Lainey Wilson Advises Beyoncé About Country Music
Wilson is considered one of the best country music stars of her generation. The "Things a Man Oughta Know" singer recently won her first Grammy Award for Best Country Album, beating Kelsea Ballerini, Tyler Childers, Brothers Osborne, and Zach Bryan.
"This is absolutely wild, y'all. This is my very first Grammy," Wilson said in her acceptance speech before reflecting on her roots and journey to becoming a musician.
"I am from a farming community in northeast Louisiana, a little town of 200 people, and I'm a fifth-generation farmer's daughter, and I would consider myself a farmer too.
"And everybody that I surround myself with, I think they're farmers too, but they're story farmers," she continued.
"And it's about getting up every single day and planting those seeds and watering them and watching them grow. And sometimes when you find the right farming community, you can have a harvest of a lifetime, and I truly believe that and I think that's exactly what this is tonight."
Wilson won her first Grammy for her fourth studio album "Bell Bottom Country," released in 2022.
