The Roots and Live Nation Urban just proudly announced the 2024 edition of "Roots Picnic," offering a musical and cultural experience that will surely be unmatched.

On June 1-2, 2024, which is a Saturday and a Saunday, the two-day event will return to The Mann in Fairmount Park in Philadelphia, PA, where it has usually been held.

Roots Picnic 2024 Complete Lineup

Maintaining a tradition, the lineup pairs some of the most significant up-and-coming talents in the culture with a group of voices from different generations.

First, the multi-GRAMMY Award-winning legend Lil Wayne will open the festival.

The Roots will play a show that features decades' worth of iconic tunes and an immersive celebration of his multi-cultural birthplace of New Orleans, featuring Trombone Shorty and special guests PJ Morton.

Furthermore, powerful Jill Scott will co-headline and continue to enthrall with passion, elegance, and soul in her hometown of Philadelphia.

Scott is fresh off a big 20th anniversary tour in support of her groundbreaking debut album, "Who Is Jill Scott?," released in 2000.

The essence of "Roots Picnic" is a spirit of unrestricted creation and unrestricted teamwork.

This year, the festival notably features Victoria Monét, fresh off her 2024 GRAMMY® Award victories and her career-defining album Jaguar II, in response to great fan demand.

André 3000 will play in support of his critically acclaimed solo debut, New Blue Sun, alongside other icons. Gunna, who achieved arena status last year with a sellout at Brooklyn's Barclays Center for his first headline show in more than two years, is back in Philadelphia as one of the weekend's biggest headliners.

Along with these amazing and diverse artists, the program also includes Adam Blackstone featuring Fantasia & Muni Long, Cam'ron, Nas, Wale, Robert Glasper featuring Yebba, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, and more.

Remember 2023 Roots Picnic?

Last year, "Roots Picnic '' was quite memorable. It fetured sets from super bowl performer Usher & The Roots, Ms. Lauryn Hill with a surprise Fugees reunion, Dave Chappelle, State Property, Lil Uzi Vert, and more. The reviews were all positive, if not raving.

According to Variety,"The 2023 iteration of the Roots Picnic wound up being its most thoroughly engaging, and surprise-filled festival."

Rolling Stone even described it as "a Philly institution."

ESSENCE gushed how the weekend served as a "beautiful celebration of culture, art, music, and the city of brotherly love."

Can the 2024 Roots Picnic hold water? We hope so!

Lineup is subject to change so always keep up to date.
