Keith Urban's show at the Washington State Fair has been rescheduled from this Saturday to Sept. 19, 2015.
The show was cancelled on Friday morning after Urban's father-in-law (Nicole Kidman's father) passed away. A statement from the Fair's website read thusly:
The Washington State Fair has received notification from Keith Urban's management that his concert date on Saturday, Sept. 13 will be canceled due to the untimely death of his father-in-law. The Fair sends its condolences to both Keith Urban and his wife, Nicole Kidman.
The Fair is in contact with Urban's management. They appreciate the patience of ticket holders at this time. Urban's management will be determining the best course of action for ticket holders, and the Washington State Fair will make another announcement in several hours.
On Friday afternoon, the Fair announced Urban's 2015 engagement, and informed fans that they can use their current tickets at next year's event.
Purchasers can also return their tickets for a full refund (more details here).
Taste of Country points out that Urban was in Thousand Oaks, Calif. for a Ventura Country Food Bank benefit on Thursday, but flew back to Nashville to be with Kidman after hearing the news.
Details of Dr. Kidman's death are "still being sorted out" –– some papers report that his passing was the result of a fall, and some report that he had a heart attack.
